The Team

Alan Fortin is a certified school counselor.  He joined the HKMS counseling department in 2006.  Previously, he was an outreach worker at Bristol Central High School.  Alan obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Fitchburg State University in the year 2001, and his Master of Science degree in School Counseling from the College of New Rochelle.  As a former collegiate hockey player, Alan enjoys playing all sports, particularly ice hockey and golf.  Alan resides in Southington with his wife, two daughters, and his dogs Chopper and Izzy.

My name is Miss Paidas and I am so excited to be one of the school counselors at HKMS. I received my masters of School Counseling at Southern Connecticut State University. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was a paraeducator for 4 years.  I chose this career because of the positive impact my middle school counselor had on my life. We are still in touch today. 

A little bit about me, I am a certified zumba instructor and love to dance. My family lives in Miami, Florida.  I have a niece who is 3 years old and is my favorite human! One of my passions is interior decorating and I love inspirational quotes. My favorite quote is "In a world where you can be anything, be kind." Advocating for mental health is also something that is very important to me. What I care about most is building meaningful relationships with my students; that is at the core of successful counseling!

My name is Alexis Lucibello and I am the new School Social Worker at HKMS. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in Psychology. I later earned my Master's in Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University.

Throughout my education and professional experience, I have had the opportunity to work with children and adolescents across a variety of age groups, from infancy through adolescence. I chose social work because it gives me the opportunity to make a positive difference in students’ lives every day. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where students can overcome challenges, build confidence, develop their strengths, and work toward achieving both their academic and personal goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, getting lost in a good book, and making memories with my friends and family.

My name is Miss Emma and I am the School Psychologist here at HKMS! I received my Bachelors and Masters degree as well as my Sixth Year Certificate in School Psychology at Southern Connecticut State University. I have worked in varius districts across the state, and have experience with children from the age of two years old, up to high school.

I have so much love for my two rescue dogs named Drax and Lylla, who are named after characters from one of my favorite Marvel movies. When I’m not playing or traveling with my dogs, I love to cook, bake, and do a variety of DIY projects and crafts. I purchased my first home in Killingworth, and am very excited to work in the district that I now live in!
